About FacilitiesCo
My grandfather, H.S. Pieters, started the business in the early '70s as Pieters Bouers en Skrynwerkers. Solid wood kitchens and bars out of a workshop at 7 Shaft Road, Knights, Germiston.
My father didn't inherit it. He joined it. By then we were Pieters Kitchens, and I grew up in that workshop — which is why I still love the smell of one.
After that I spent fifteen years running Sandton Action Sports — five international courts, all under cover, open seven days a week. Roofing, netting, surfaces, and the daily business of keeping a structure safe while hundreds of people use it.
When I moved into shade, I wasn't starting over. Same problem, different fabric. And I already knew what happens when netting fails at scale.

FacilitiesCo has built shade ports since 2016 — cantilever and four-post structures, shade sails, and the maintenance that keeps them standing.
We build new and we look after existing ones — including the ones we didn't build. Because the steel outlasts the net, and someone has to keep it going.
Steel that's meant to stay up.
You've got a structure. You know whether it's holding up or not.
Send us a photo and a rough size if you know one. We'll tell you what it needs, and whether we can help.
